The Jharkhand Home Guard Vahini is a voluntary organisation functioning under the Home Department of Jharkhand Government. Home Guards are voluntary members who are deployed on duty as per necessity and paid allowances at the rate determined by the Government for the number of working days of deployment. This is not a permanent or salaried government job. The recruitment drive for Ramgarh district covers both Rural Home Guards (Gramin Grih Rakshak) across 6 blocks and Urban Home Guards (Shahri Grih Rakshak) across 2 urban areas (Technical and Non-Technical). The enrollment is done for a period of 4 years as per the Jharkhand Home Guard (Volunteer) Rules, 2014. They are paid allowances at the rate determined by the Government of Jharkhand for the number of working days on which they are deployed on duty as per requirement. | This is not a salaried government job or a means of regular livelihood. How to Apply
- 1Eligible candidates must apply online only at https://recruitment.jharkhand.gov.in, which is made available by JAP IT, Ranchi, Jharkhand.
- 2The online application window is open from 07/05/2026 to 04/06/2026. The application fee of ₹100/- must be paid through the link provided on the website. Rural Home Guards and Urban Home Guards must fill in separate prescribed application formats. In the online application, candidates must upload a self-attested proof certificate, a recent passport-size colour photograph, and their signature.
- 3After successfully submitting the online application, the printout (along with all attachments) must be submitted at the District Commandant Office, Ramgarh from 08/05/2026 to 05/06/2026. Only one application per candidate will be accepted; in case of multiple applications, the candidature will be automatically cancelled. Candidates must provide two photo identity proofs (from Voter ID/Driving License/PAN Card/Aadhar Card) in the online application form.

Important Instructions
- Home Guard service is voluntary and not a salaried government job. Enrollment is for 4 years as per Jharkhand Home Guard (Volunteer) Rules, 2014. 50% of posts are reserved for women in both Rural and Urban categories. 5% of women-reserved posts are for eligible divorced/deserted/widowed women candidates. 50% of Urban posts are for technically skilled candidates. Government servants can be enrolled up to 10% of total Urban Home Guard vacancies. One application per candidate only; multiple applications will be automatically cancelled. Any incorrect information in the online application will result in automatic cancellation. Physical/Written Test date and venue will be communicated through daily newspapers. SC/ST candidates are entitled to relaxation in physical measurements with valid caste certificate. All disputes regarding enrollment are governed by the Jharkhand Home Guard (Volunteer) Rules, 2014.
