How to Apply
- 1Candidates must apply online only. Before applying, every candidate must mandatorily: (1) register as an Apprentice on the NAPS portal at https://apprenticeshipindia.gov.in, and (2) update eKYC in the Apprentice profile. Only after completing both steps on the NAPS portal should candidates proceed to apply online at the SMC recruitment portal. For more details, candidates may contact the Recruitment Division on Phone No. 0261-2423751-56 (Extension-231).

Important Instructions
- THIS IS NOT A PERMANENT EMPLOYMENT. The apprenticeship period is as per the contract generated on the Government website and candidates will be immediately discharged on completion of the apprenticeship period. Mandatory NAPS portal registration with eKYC update must be completed before applying on the SMC website. Applications submitted without prior NAPS registration will not be processed. Candidates who have already completed an apprenticeship in any trade are not eligible — online contract generation will not be possible for such candidates. Stipend payable to apprentices is subject to Government policy and guidelines as amended from time to time. Document verification date and intimations will be sent only to the registered mobile number and email ID provided in the application. In case of change in mobile number or email, SMC will not be responsible for any future communication gaps. Candidates must appear for document verification with both original documents and self-attested copies. Absence from document verification will result in automatic cancellation of candidature. If, during scrutiny of application form and documents, any candidate is found not meeting the eligibility criteria under the Apprentices Act or the notification provisions, or if any discrepancy is found between the application and original certificates, candidature will be cancelled at any stage. If a candidate leaves the apprenticeship before completion of the period, the contract will be terminated. The Appointing Authority (SMC) reserves full rights to cancel this notification, cancel any trade, or make any modifications for any reason without being obligated to provide reasons for the same.
