Absconded apprentice candidates from previous training are also not eligible.

How to Apply

  • 1Candidates shall apply offline only - no online application portal is available for submission. The process involves two steps: first, mandatory registration on NAPS 2.0 / NATS 2.0 portal; second, sending the filled application form by post to NPCIL MAPS Kalpakkam. Incomplete or erroneous applications or applications without proper enclosures will be summarily rejected without any communication.
  • 2Step-by-Step Application Process:
  • 3Step 1: Register on the mandatory apprenticeship portal - NAPS 2.0 (for Trade Apprentices) or NATS 2.0 (for Diploma & Graduate Apprentices). Ensure Aadhaar is linked with your bank account before registering.
  • 4Step 2: Download the Application Form (Annexure-1) from www.npcil.nic.in > HR Management > Opportunities. Verify your eligibility before filling the form.

Important Instructions

  • THIS IS NOT AN EMPLOYMENT IN NPCIL. Engagement as an apprentice shall not create any obligation on NPCIL to offer regular employment, nor any obligation on the apprentice to accept employment under NPCIL after completion of training. The period of apprenticeship training will be for a maximum of One Year. The contract of apprenticeship terminates on expiry of the training period. Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act-1961 in any organization are strictly NOT eligible to apply. Preference in selection will be given to candidates from neighbouring villages within 16 km radius of the MAPS plant site in Kalpakkam. Merit-based selection from other candidates will follow only if trades/disciplines are not filled by local candidates. All selected apprentices must sign a contract of apprenticeship with NPCIL as per the Apprentices Act-1961 and Apprenticeship Rules-1992. Madras Atomic Power Station is a highly prohibited area. Engagement is subject to submission of Police Verification Certificate from the concerned District Police Authority. Candidature is provisional at all stages. If false information or suppressed facts are detected at any stage of the process or during training, the application/training shall be rejected forthwith and NPCIL will not entertain any correspondence. If it is detected that the candidate has provided false documents, impersonated, or affixed a non-human/irrelevant photograph, the applicant will be liable to be disqualified, prosecuted and permanently debarred from apprenticeship in NPCIL. Only Full-Time/Regular mode qualifications (ITI/Diploma/Graduation) are accepted. Distance/Part-Time/Correspondence qualifications are not eligible. Diploma and Graduate Apprentice applicants must have passed their qualifying examination within 5 years of the last date of application i.e. 30/06/2026 (applicable for NATS 2.0 portal eligibility). All SC/ST/OBC (NCL) candidates must produce a self-attested copy of valid caste certificate in the prescribed Central Government format from a Competent Authority along with originals at the time of document verification. NPCIL strives to have a workforce that reflects gender balance. Women candidates are encouraged to apply. In case of any discrepancy between Hindi and English versions of the notification, the English version shall prevail for all purposes. Management reserves the right to cancel or alter the number of seats of any particular trade/discipline or cancel the entire engagement process without assigning any reason.
