Recruitment Rules for Professor/Additional Professor/Associate Professor are generic in nature - candidates must apply only for the department/specialty in which they hold the requisite qualification and experience. Non-Medical candidacy is available only for Anatomy (M.Sc. Human Anatomy/Anatomy), Biochemistry (M.Sc. Medical Biochemistry/Biochemistry), and Physiology (M.Sc. Medical Physiology/Physiology) departments, each requiring an additional Doctorate degree from a recognized university. Important: No age relaxation is available to SC/ST/OBC candidates applying for unreserved (UR) vacancies or being considered against UR posts on merit.

Age Relaxation

All grades carry usual allowances admissible to Central Government employees of similar status at Jodhpur, plus Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) for medically qualified candidates only. Probation period is 2 years; employees are governed by the New Pension Scheme. Private practice of any kind is prohibited.

Important: Fee is payable only through the online payment gateway of AIIMS Jodhpur. Applications without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected. The fee, once remitted, is non-refundable except the ₹200 SC/ST/Women/PwBD fee, which is refunded only to those who appear for the interview.

There is no written examination. Selection is through bio-data-based shortlisting followed by a Personal Interview at AIIMS Jodhpur. Merely possessing the prescribed minimum qualification does not entitle a candidate to selection; the Selection Committee shortlists candidates for interview based on bio-data. Shortlisted candidates must produce all original documents at the time of interview. Interviews will be held at AIIMS Jodhpur; no TA/DA is paid for appearing. Minimum interview cut-off marks: 60% for EWS/UR, 55% for OBC, 50% for SC/ST/PwBD categories.

If a candidate indicates a category (EWS/SC/ST/OBC/General) in the application form but later requests a change, such requests will not be entertained by the Institute. OBC candidates must submit a valid caste certificate in the DoPT-prescribed format with non-creamy layer status; a certificate issued in FY 2026-27 is required, though older certificates/acknowledgement slips are provisionally accepted pending renewal.
