AIIMS Nagpur Senior Resident Recruitment 2026 Notification Out - Apply Online for 72 Posts

AIIMS Nagpur was established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) with the objective of improving regional imbalances in the availability of affordable and reliable tertiary healthcare services, and to augment facilities for quality medical education in the country. The Institute has been functioning since the 2018-19 session and is envisioned to develop into an institute with the highest standards of teaching, training and research. Through this AIIMS Nagpur Senior Resident Recruitment 2026 notification, the Executive Director invites applications from Indian Nationals for the post of Senior Resident as per the Residency Scheme of the Government of India.

The table below gives the department-wise and category-wise vacancy breakup for all 72 Senior Resident posts, exactly as published in the official notification. Departments marked with an asterisk (*) are super-speciality disciplines with distinct essential qualifications (see the next section); the department marked with a hash (#) is Trauma & Emergency, which also has a separate qualification list. The notification states that in case no application is received under the EWS category, a UR candidate may be considered against that vacancy. For general (non-super-speciality) departments, the essential qualification is a postgraduate Medical Degree (MD/MS) in the respective discipline from a recognised University/Institute. NMC/MCI/State Medical Council registration is mandatory before joining, if selected. For departments marked with an asterisk, the essential qualification is as given below; candidates holding a DM/M.Ch in the respective super-speciality discipline may also apply. For the Trauma & Emergency department, the accepted qualifications are: MD in Emergency Medicine, or MD in General Medicine, or MS in General Surgery, or MD in Anaesthesiology, or MD in Respiratory Medicine, or MS in Orthopaedics, or a recognised qualification equivalent thereto. No age relaxation is available to SC/ST/OBC candidates applying against unreserved (UR) vacancies. Age is counted as completed years as on the closing date of the application. 4% of the total posts are horizontally reserved for Persons with Disability (PwD) with benchmark disability, as per Reservation Rules and RPWD Act/DoPT instructions.

Selected Senior Residents will be placed at Level 11, Cell No. 01, as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC) , which corresponds to a pay of Rs. 67,700/- per month, plus usual allowances including Non-Practising Allowance (NPA), if applicable. As per the terms and conditions, appointees are not entitled to Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Attendance Treatment, Seniority, Promotion, or other benefits admissible to regularly appointed Government servants.

Selection is made purely on the basis of an interview conducted at AIIMS Nagpur.
