The candidate must possess the prescribed postgraduate qualification in the concerned specialty/discipline from a recognized University or Institute. The candidate must be registered with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council, wherever applicable. The candidate should fulfil all eligibility conditions prescribed under the applicable Residency Scheme. Candidates already working in any Government or Autonomous Institution must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer at the time of interview/document verification. The required postgraduate qualification differs by department. The upper age limit for eligibility is 45 years as on 31.08.2026. Candidates who have already completed the maximum permissible period of Senior Residency under the applicable Residency Scheme are not eligible. Applicants must also pass the qualifying examination on or before 31st July 2026 and be able to furnish proof of this by the same date. Selected Senior Residents will be paid as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC), Level-11 of the pay matrix (pre-revised PB-3), with an entry pay of Rs. 67,700 per month, plus Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) and other allowances as admissible under Government of India rules.

Verification of eligibility and original documents. Selection based on performance in the walk-in interview, subject to fulfilment of prescribed eligibility criteria, document verification and applicable reservation rules. In case two or more candidates secure equal marks, the candidate older in age (earlier date of birth) will be placed higher in the merit list. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/EWS is applicable as per Government of India policy. Candidates applying under EWS/OBC/SC/ST categories must possess a valid category certificate issued by the competent authority, valid for admission/employment in Central Government Institutions, issued on or before the date of interview. For OBC/EWS candidates, the certificate must have been issued during Financial Year 2026-27. In the absence of a valid reserved-category certificate, a candidate may be considered against an Unreserved (UR) vacancy, provided the post is advertised under the UR category and the candidate meets all UR eligibility criteria.
