AIIMS Raebareli has officially released Notice No. AIIMS/RBL/REC/SR/2026/480 dated 27 August 2026 for the recruitment of 108 Senior Residents across 35 departments on an ad-hoc basis. The notification includes complete details on department-wise and category-wise vacancies, educational qualifications, medical registration requirements, age limit, salary, reservation, selection process, walk-in interview schedule, document verification and terms and conditions of appointment. A total of 108 Senior Resident vacancies are notified across 35 departments, with a category-wise break-up as shown below. If no applicant is available or turns up under the EWS category, that EWS post will be filled by an Unreserved (UR) candidate. 4% horizontal reservation applies for PwD candidates as per Government of India rules. OBC (NCL) candidates must produce a certificate of the current financial year at the time of reporting. The EWS income & asset certificate must be issued between 01.04.2025 and the reporting date, based on income for financial year 2024-25, valid for financial year 2025-26. The above posts are provisional and may be varied at the discretion of the competent authority. All selected candidates will be posted at AIIMS, Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh.

For the post of Senior Resident (Non-Academic), candidates must fulfil the following essential qualifications: A medical qualification included in the first or second schedule, or Part II of the third schedule, of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (candidates with Part II third-schedule qualifications must also satisfy the conditions in Section 13(3) of the Act). Registration with the Central or State Medical Council. For Broad Speciality posts: MD/MS/DNB in the concerned speciality, or an equivalent qualification. For Super Speciality posts: MD/MS/DNB in the related broad speciality, along with DM/M.Ch/DNB in the concerned super speciality.

The age limit for the post of Senior Resident is 45 years, relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Selected Senior Residents will be placed in Pay Matrix Level-11, with a minimum basic pay of Rs. 67,700/-, plus Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) admissible to medical personnel, as per the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission. As per the terms and conditions of the notification, appointees on this ad-hoc basis are not entitled to benefits such as Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Attendance Treatment, or Seniority/Promotion available to regular Government servants.

Selection is based on a personal interview. However, if the number of candidates who apply is large, a written examination consisting of MCQs in the concerned subject will be conducted first, and shortlisted candidates from this exam will then appear for the interview.
