Candidates should keep track of the following dates as per the brief notification. The Screening Test date will be announced separately in the Detailed Notification. The Commission has clarified that the date of the Detailed Notification will be treated as the crucial date for all eligibility aspects, including age and qualification.

The table below lists the 13 post categories notified under APPSC Group-I Recruitment 2026, along with the provisional number of vacancies and the applicable pay scale for each post. The Commission has stated that these vacancy numbers may vary once confirmed by the concerned departments.

Applicants must possess the required educational qualification as on the date of the Detailed Notification. Eligibility differs slightly for one post, as shown below.

Selected candidates will draw pay as per the scale of pay notified for their respective post, ranging from Rs. 54,060-1,40,540 to Rs. 65,360-1,54,980 depending on the post. Refer to the vacancy table above for the exact pay scale applicable to each post.

Selection for APPSC Group-I Services consists of three stages: a Screening Test, a Mains (Written) Examination, and an Interview. The Screening Test is held offline in OMR-based objective format and is used to shortlist candidates for the Mains examination. Negative marking applies: 1/3rd of the marks allotted to a question is deducted for each wrong answer. The Interview carries 75 marks. The final selection is based on the aggregate of Mains papers I to V (750 marks) plus the Interview (75 marks), taking the total marks for merit to 825. The Telugu and English papers in the Mains are of qualifying nature only and are not counted in this total.
