The age limit is a maximum of 57 years as on the date of notification. A good academic record, with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned / allied / relevant disciplines. A Master's Degree with at least 55% marks, or an equivalent grade in a point-scale wherever the grading system is followed. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and / or research in an academic / research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution / Industry. A minimum of seven publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals. A total research score of Seventy five (75) as per the criteria given in Appendix, Table 2. SC/ST candidates get a 5% relaxation at the Master's level, from 55% to 50% of the marks. This amount is the registration fee including the application fee. Pay it by Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. It is non-refundable under any circumstances.

The selection procedure will be as per the decision of the Syndicate of Bharathiar University. Applicants should be prepared to come for an interview at their own cost. The University will follow a transparency procedure as per Government Letter No.7582/K2/2021-1, dated 09.06.2021.

The selected candidate will be required to join duty immediately. On joining, the candidate must enter into an agreement with the University in accordance with its laws. Pay protection will not be guaranteed in any manner to candidates already in service.
