• The selection process for BPSC 72nd CCE Recruitment 2026 consists of 3 (three) successive stages - Preliminary Examination (Part-1)

• followed by a Medical Examination. The Preliminary Examination is a qualifying/screening test only - marks obtained in it will not be counted for the final merit list. Candidates qualifying the Mains will be called for Personality Test at 2.5 times the number of vacancies (category-wise).

• Applications must be submitted online only through the BPSC Online Application Portal (bpsconline.bihar.gov.in), accessible on the official website https://bpsc.bihar.gov.in. Hard copy applications will not be accepted under any circumstances. The online portal will be active from 07-05-2026 to 31-05-2026. New users must complete One Time Registration (OTR) on the BPSC portal - only one OTR per candidate is permitted. Multiple OTR registrations can lead to rejection of candidature.
• All supporting documents must be uploaded in PDF format (max 100 KB per document) at the time of filling the online application. A valid and working email ID and mobile number are mandatory and must be kept active until final results are published. Candidates must upload a live webcam photograph during application - the background must be white or light-coloured with sufficient light. Hindi and English signatures must both be scanned and uploaded (jpg/jpeg format, max 15 KB, dimensions 220x100 pixels).

• Only Indian citizens with valid Bihar domicile (for reservation benefits) are eligible to apply; candidates from outside Bihar can apply under UR category only. Candidates must possess the prescribed minimum qualification (Graduation) on the closing date of application. No hard copy applications will be accepted - online submission only via BPSC OTR portal. Examination fee is non-refundable; incomplete applications without fee will be rejected. Only one OTR registration per candidate is allowed; multiple OTR registrations can lead to rejection. All documents must be uploaded in PDF format at the time of online application - hard copy submissions to the Commission office are not required. Married women must provide their father's (not husband's) caste/creamy layer certificate for reservation claims. For PwBD reservation, only PwBD certificate issued by Civil Surgeon/CMO of a Government hospital will be accepted as provisionally valid. Bihar Government employees are allowed maximum 5 attempts at competitive examinations after regular appointment. Candidates who have been directed to not appear by UPSC/State PSC/other selection bodies due to misconduct are not eligible to appear in this examination. Submitting wrong/incomplete/misleading information in the online application will make the candidate solely responsible for adverse consequences. All updates/corrigendum/errata will be published only on https://bpsc.bihar.gov.in - candidates must check regularly. Negative marking of 1/3 mark applies for each wrong answer in the Preliminary Examination. Candidates must keep 4 copies of their recent photograph safely for use when requested by the Commission.
