BSIP has announced a total of 19 vacancies for the post of Scientist 'B', carrying Pay Level 10 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission. The category-wise distribution is as follows: The institute has clarified that the number of posts may vary and it reserves the right not to fill any vacancy without assigning a reason.

Candidates must meet either of the following essential qualification requirements: M.Sc. or a recognized equivalent qualification with first division in Biosciences, Geology, Physics, Chemistry, or an allied discipline in Earth Science, along with 3 years of research experience in the relevant discipline. OR Ph.D. in a relevant discipline. Preference will be given to candidates with experience or specialization in any of the following areas, especially those supported by publications in national or international journals, including post-doctoral research experience: Palaeontology (Invertebrate/Vertebrate) Palaeobotany Palaeogeography Micropalaeontology Palaeoceanography Ancient DNA/Metagenomics Planetary Geosciences/Astrobiology Geoarchaeology Archaeobotany Palaeoecology/Palaeoclimatology Palynology Geochemistry Applied dendrochronology integrating palaeoclimates, human dynamics, and her

Selected candidates will be placed at Pay Level 10 as per the 7th Central Pay Commission, along with usual allowances admissible as per Institute rules, which follow the Government of India pattern. Selected candidates will be governed by the New Pension Scheme and will initially be appointed on a probation period of two years.
