The notification instructs candidates to check the eligibility rules issued by the concerned department before applying, and states that merely submitting the online application or appearing in the exam does not automatically make a candidate eligible.

CGSSB requires all candidates to first complete a one-time Profile Registration on its portal. Once registered, candidates do not need to re-enter personal details every time they apply for a specific exam - this information is drawn automatically from the profile. Candidates are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information in their profile and application; CGSSB is not responsible for any incorrect information a candidate provides, and no certificates (caste, date of birth, local residency, educational qualification, disability, ex-serviceman status, etc.) are collected at the application stage. Upload a recent photograph with a light-coloured background, in JPG/JPEG format, sized between 50 KB and 100 KB. Upload a scanned signature separately, in JPG/JPEG format, sized between 50 KB and 100 KB. File names should be alphanumeric, with no spaces and no extra dots.

As per the rules of the Government of Chhattisgarh, candidates who are local residents of Chhattisgarh and who actually appear in the exam will have their application fee refunded to the same bank account used for payment, after the exam result is declared.

The admit card is expected to be uploaded on the CGSSB website around 7 days before the exam. Candidates can download it by logging into their profile. The admit card will not be sent by post. The SET consists of two papers, both containing only objective (multiple-choice) questions, and there is no negative marking in either paper. Paper I is compulsory for all candidates and is of a general nature, assessing teaching aptitude, research aptitude, reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness. Paper II is based entirely on the subject chosen by the candidate, covering the complete syllabus of that subject. Each question in both papers carries 2 marks. Reach the exam centre at least 2 hours before the exam start time for identity verification and frisking. The main entry gate closes 30 minutes before the exam starts - 9:30 AM for Paper I and 1:30 PM for Paper II. Wear light-coloured, half-sleeve clothing. Candidates cannot leave the exam hall during the first 30 minutes or the last 30 minutes of the exam. As per the official notification, the top 6% of candidates who appear in both Paper I and Paper II, and who secure at least 40% aggregate marks (for General category candidates) or at least 35% aggregate marks (for SC, ST, OBC-Non Creamy Layer, PWD and Transgender candidates) across both papers combined, will be declared qualified for Assistant Professor eligibility, following the reservation policy of the Chhattisgarh Government. As answer sheets are evaluated through an OMR machine, there is no provision for rechecking or re-evaluation.

Objections to the model answer key must be submitted online by logging in with the registration number (Profile ID) and date of birth. A fee of Rs. 50 per question is charged for raising an objection, payable only online. Objections sent by post, email, or submitted in person are not accepted. Each question must be objected to separately; combining multiple questions in a single objection will result in rejection. Supporting proof must be uploaded with the objection - a guide book is not accepted as valid proof. Objections without proof will be rejected. Objections are reviewed by subject experts, and their decision is final and binding.
