Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) is an autonomous society under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, engaged in research and development in generation, transmission, distribution and operation of electricity supply systems. CPRI acts as an apex body for applied research in electrical power engineering and serves as an independent authority for testing and certification of power equipment. CPRI has notified a total of 110 vacancies (provisional) across the following 10 posts. The category-wise (UR/SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) break-up of these vacancies is given in the official notification. CPRI has clarified that the number of vacancies is provisional and may be increased, decreased or modified depending on actual requirements.

All educational qualifications must be from a University/Institution/Board recognized by the Government of India and/or approved by UGC/AICTE/State Government, as applicable. The minimum age to apply is 18 years. Age, qualification and category will be reckoned as on the closing date of the online application, i.e., 12.10.2026. Upper age limit is relaxable as per Government of India norms. All posts also carry service benefits such as Leave, LTC and medical benefits as per Government of India norms applicable to CPRI employees. Probation for all posts is initially for 2 years.

SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-servicemen/women candidates are exempted from payment of the application fee. Any bank transaction charges or processing fees for online payment must be borne by the candidate. Applications without the prescribed fee will be summarily rejected.

In the event of a tie in CBT score or valid GATE score, the tie is resolved by placing the older candidate (by date of birth) higher in the merit list. The venue, date and time for the CBT/Trade Test/Skill Test will be intimated through the admit card/call letter.

Only Indian Nationals aged 18 years and above are eligible to apply. Candidates can apply for more than one post, but must submit a separate online application, fee and documents for each post. Multiple applications for the same post will result in rejection of all such applications. Furnishing false, tampered or fabricated information can lead to disqualification at any stage, including after appointment. Online applications, once registered, cannot be withdrawn, and the fee once paid is non-refundable except in case of cancellation of the recruitment itself (only the fee is refunded, not other expenses).
