The institute has notified a total of 14 vacancies across various technical and isolated posts. The post-wise and category-wise breakdown is as follows: Note: Post Codes TC-03 and TC-04 include 02 anticipated vacancies arising on superannuation within the next one year.

The applicant must be a citizen of India.

The upper age limits for various posts are 30 years for Technical Officer, 35 years for Security Officer, 28 years for Security Assistant, 28 years for Technician (1), and 25 years for Multi-Tasking Staff. The crucial date for determining the upper age limit, qualifications, and experience is 06.11.2026 for Post Codes TO-01 to TO-05 and TC-01 to TC-04, and 16.11.2026 for Post Codes SO-01, SA-01, and MTS-01. The applicant's age must not be below 18 years.

Posts carry usual allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Transport Allowance (TA) admissible to central government employees as applicable to CSIR. Council employees are also eligible for accommodation as per CSIR allotment rules.

The application fee must be paid online through SBI Collect / online payment gateway. Fee is non-refundable.

The selection process varies by post category and generally involves screening, trade tests, physical tests, personality assessment tests, and competitive written examinations. Technical Officer: Screening Committee recommendation followed by a qualifying Trade Test and a competitive Written Examination comprising Paper I (Mental Ability Test, 50 Qs, 100 Marks), Paper II (General Awareness & English Language, 50 Qs, 150 Marks), and Paper III (Concerned Subject, 100 Qs, 300 Marks). Final merit is based on Paper II and III. Security Officer: Screening followed by Physical Standards, Physical Test, and a Written Examination consisting of Paper-I (Mental Ability & Personality Assessment, 100 Qs, 100 Marks) and Paper-II (Subjective: Comprehension, Report Writing, Security Regulations & Firefighting, General Awareness, 100 Marks). Candidates must fulfill all eligibility criteria as of the last date of online application submission. Separate applications with separate fees must be submitted for each post code if applying for multiple posts. Candidates currently working in CSIR, Government organizations, autonomous bodies, statutory bodies, universities, or PSUs must upload a valid No Objection Certificate (NOC). No TA/DA will be paid for attending tests, except for eligible SC/ST candidates as per rules.
