The recruitment notification announces 1 active vacancy for the Project Scientist-II (PS-II) position, with an anticipated vacancy of up to 3 posts depending upon the availability of funds and selection from the waiting list.

Candidates must fulfill the essential qualification criteria prescribed for the position. The eligibility details are as follows: Essential Qualification: M. E / M. Tech in Civil/ Chemical/ Mechanical/ Environmental Engineering or Technology from a recognized University. Experience: 5 years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services. Upper Age Limit: 40 years, reckoned as on the last date of receipt of applications.

The selected candidate will receive a monthly emolument of Rs. 67,000/- along with House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per applicable rules. An increment of 5% will be provided for every 2 years of experience in the same project. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The tenure of project staff who have served CSIR-NEERI or any other laboratories/Institutes of CSIR under contract R&D projects is subject to limits as per CSIR guidelines.

The selected Project Scientist-II will be responsible for the following duties and tasks: Field Monitoring and Laboratory analysis of Ambient Air. Source apportionment (PMF, CMB). Size distribution and chemical composition. Integration of AI/ML in Air pollution Problem. Skilled in Python Programming Language.

Selection will be done on the basis of an online interview conducted through MS Teams, Skype, or other online platforms. The date of the interview will be notified separately on the official website. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for the online interview based on criteria adopted by the Screening Committee.

The positions are purely temporary and do not confer any right for regularization against any CSIR-NEERI post. Candidates are not required to pay any application fees. Only candidates who have acquired essential qualifications and whose results have been declared are eligible to apply. Result-awaited or final semester appearing candidates are not eligible. Experience is counted from the date after acquiring minimum educational qualification; academic dissertation or thesis work is not counted. Selected candidates must sign an undertaking for maintaining the confidentiality of project findings and intellectual property. Project staff must make their own arrangements for accommodation during their tenure, though HRA is admissible as per rules.
