Candidates should note the following key dates for CSIR NEERI Recruitment 2026 before applying online.

A total of 13 vacancies are notified: 01 post of Technical Assistant and 12 posts of Technical Officer across eight post codes. The number of vacancies is provisional and may increase or decrease at the time of selection, as stated in the official notification. Note: Out of the 13 vacant posts, 1 post is reserved for PwBD Category (a), i.e. Blind and Low Vision (B & L.V.). Reservation abbreviations used: UR - Unreserved, SC - Scheduled Caste, ST - Scheduled Tribe, OBC (NCL) - Other Backward Class (Non-Creamy Layer), EWS - Economically Weaker Section, PwBD - Person with Benchmark Disability.

Candidates must hold the essential qualification listed against their chosen post code in the vacancy table above, obtained from a University/ Institution/ Board recognised by the Government of India, with results declared on or before the closing date of the online application. The notification specifies that mere possession of the minimum qualification does not guarantee a call for the Trade Test; applications are screened by a duly constituted Screening Committee.

The minimum age for all posts is not below 18 years. The upper age limit, reckoned as on the closing date (15/ 10/ 2026), differs by post: Age relaxation is available for SC/ ST (5 years), OBC-NCL (3 years), PwBD (10 years for unreserved, more for reserved categories), Government employees (up to 5 years) and Ex-Servicemen (3 years), as per the detailed conditions in the official notification. Applications submitted without the prescribed fee, where applicable, will be summarily rejected, and the fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances.

The figures represent approximate total monthly emoluments at the minimum of the pay scale, inclusive of House Rent Allowance admissible at Nagpur headquarters; amounts may vary for postings at Regional Centres.

Selection for both posts follows a two-stage process: Trade Test (Qualifying): Screened and eligible candidates are called for a Trade Test in the relevant area/ discipline. Competitive Written Examination: Candidates who qualify the Trade Test appear for a written exam of 200 questions across three papers, in a 3-hour OMR/ Computer-Based Objective Multiple-Choice format, set in English and Hindi (except the English language paper). Paper II and Paper III are evaluated only for candidates who cross the minimum threshold marks in Paper I, and the final merit list is prepared based on performance in Paper II and Paper III combined.
