CSIR NML Recruitment 2026 – Walk in for 48 Project Assistant, Project Associate and More Posts

Note: Groups G and H are both scheduled for 09 October 2026 as per the official notification — candidates should confirm their exact reporting slot for their specific project on the day, or via the CSIR-NML website. Essential qualifications and upper age limit are reckoned as on the scheduled date of interview for the relevant group.

Note: Qualifications above are condensed for quick reference. Several posts accept alternate qualifications (e.g. "Diploma OR B.Sc.") and some carry desirable/preferred experience (e.g. MATLAB, finite element analysis, Eddy Current/Ultrasonic NDE, DIY kit development). Candidates should verify the exact wording for their post in the full official notification before attending.

Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/PwBD/Women and 3 years for OBC candidates. The cut-off date for qualification and age is the scheduled date of interview for that group.

Selection is through a Walk-in Interview/Test — there is no separate written examination stage unless invoked below. If the number of candidates turning up for a project is very high, a screening committee may shortlist candidates via a written test or other criteria, and only shortlisted candidates will then be interviewed. Candidates must bring the filled application form, original certificates, and self-attested photocopies on the day of the walk-in itself — no other mode of application is accepted. Final selection is at the discretion of the competent authority, CSIR-NML; the decision is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entertained. Engagement is subject to availability of project funds and is not a regular CSIR appointment.

Download and fill the Project Staff Application Form (Advt. No. T/PS/04/2026) in the prescribed proforma — a separate form is required for each Group/Project applied for. Affix a recent self-attested colour passport-size photograph on the form. Attach self-attested photocopies of all educational, experience, age-proof and category certificates as applicable. Report to CSIR-NML, Burmamines, Jamshedpur-831007 (Jharkhand) between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM on the date corresponding to your project's Group (see schedule above). Carry all original certificates/documents for verification along with the filled application and self-attested copies. Appear for the interview/test as conducted on the day. Important: No TA/DA is paid for attending the walk-in interview/test. Final-semester/year students awaiting results (without final result in hand) are not eligible to attend.

Engagement confers no right to continuation, absorption, or regularization in CSIR/CSIR-NML; it can be terminated with one month's notice (or one month's stipend in lieu) from either side. Candidates already engaged as Project Staff in CSIR-NML or any other CSIR Lab/Institute for 6 years or more are not eligible . Those engaged for less than 6 years will have their tenure automatically end on completion of 6 years. Hindi may be used as the medium of conversation during the interview. Providing false information may result in a ban from future CSIR-NML recruitment/engagement, which may also be shared with other CSIR labs and government agencies.
