DGQA Technician Recruitment 2026 – Apply Offline for 32 Posts

The important dates for the submission of applications and related recruitment events are given below:

DGQA has announced a total of 32 vacancies across its technical establishments located in Kanpur, New Delhi, and Shahjahanpur. The unit-wise and category-wise breakdown of vacancies is detailed below: Horizontal reservation applies across the vacancies: 10% for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and 10% for Agniveer across both posts, and 4% for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) for Technician (Semi Skilled).

Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply. Applicants must possess the required educational and technical qualifications from recognized institutions. Additional requirements and conditions for each post are as follows: Specified Trades for Technician (Skilled): Computer Hardware and Networking, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, Cutting & Sewing, Electrician, Fitter, Information Technology and Electronic System Maintenance, Instrument Mechanic, Machinist, Painter, Pattern Maker, Plumber, Refrigeration and Air conditioner Mechanic, Tool and Die Maker or Tools and Die (Jig and Fixture). Experience for Technician (Skilled): One year experience in the specified trade from a recognised Organisation or Undertaking. Applicant should have attained minimum 18 years of age, maximum 27 years as on the application closing date for the UR and EWS categories. The crucial date for determining the maximum age limit is the closing date for receipt of applications from candidates in India (21 days from publication). Relaxations in the upper age limit are admissible to reserved categories as per Government rules:

Salaries are determined according to the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. Recruited candidates will draw salary as per their pay level and are eligible for applicable benefits and allowances. Recruited candidates will be covered under the National Pension Scheme (NPS) / Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) as per extant Government of India rules.

The notification does not mention any application fee.

The recruitment process consists of the following stages in order: Written Test Departmental Trade Skill Test Document Verification and Medical Examination In case where more than one candidate secures equal marks (trade-cum-station wise), the tie will be resolved by applying the following methods in order of sequence: Date of birth, with older candidates placed higher. Candidate with higher marks in Numerical Aptitude. Candidate with higher marks in English Language & Comprehension.

The Written Test will be objective type multiple choice questions only, conducted in one session (forenoon or afternoon) at Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Question papers will follow the syllabus of Tenth Standard / Matriculation of Central/State Boards. Part (i) will be bilingual in English and Hindi. Part (ii) and Part (iii) will be in English only. There is no negative marking for wrong answers. Candidates shortlisted based on Written Test marks and reservation categories will be called for the Trade Test.

Submitting more than one application will lead to summary rejection of all applications without assigning any cause. Selected candidates will be appointed on probation for a period of two years and are liable to serve anywhere within India. No change in post or posting station will be permitted after submission of the application. Candidates diagnosed with night blindness or colour blindness will be declared medically unfit and cannot be appointed. Ex-Servicemen and Agniveers who have already secured regular civil employment in Group 'C' or 'D' posts under Central or State Government under ESM reservation quota are not eligible for reservation under ESM/Agniveer quota.
