The District Legal Services Authority, Balrampur runs the legal services programmes of the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi and the State Legal Services Authority in Balrampur district, Uttar Pradesh. The PLVs are being engaged on the instructions of the District Judge, Shri Utkarsh Chaturvedi, to publicise these programmes and help carry them out. The notice is signed by Yashpal Verma, Secretary of the Authority.

The official notification does not specify the minimum educational qualification. Instead, it invites applications from people in these groups: Doctors and teachers (retired) Government servants and senior citizens (retired) MSW students and teachers Anganwadi workers Members of the transgender community Law students, until they are enrolled as advocates Representatives and workers of voluntary organisations Members of women's organisations, Maitri Sangathan and other service groups Educated prisoners with good conduct serving long sentences in jail. PLVs are paid an honorarium for each working day at the rate fixed by the National/State Legal Services Authority. It is paid for set tasks: visiting remote villages, handing out legal literacy material, and working at the Legal Aid Clinic and the Front Office.

The Authority will look at the applications it receives and then hold an interview on 30 October 2026 at the District and Sessions Court, Balrampur. No travel allowance is paid for attending the interview.
