A total of 86 vacancies (provisional) have been announced for Senior Resident posts across 18 Broad Speciality Departments. The vacancy count may increase or decrease based on actual patient care requirements. The category-wise break-up is given below. Note: In the ICU department, if candidates with a postgraduate qualification do not appear, MBBS doctors without a PG degree but with two years of experience (including at least one year in ICU, General Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Casualty, or Anesthesia from a government or private hospital, not a private clinic) may be considered for appointment as a Non-PG Resident against the Senior Resident post for one year.

Candidates must hold the educational qualification prescribed in accordance with the latest guidelines of the National Medical Commission (NMC), formerly the Medical Council of India (MCI), for the concerned speciality. This generally means an MBBS degree along with a postgraduate degree or diploma (MD/MS/DNB or equivalent) in the relevant department, though the ICU relaxation described above may apply where postgraduate candidates are unavailable.
