GMC Mahabubnagar has announced 149 vacancies across 22 departments for Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor, plus separately notified Tutor and Junior Resident posts. The notification states the vacancy position may be decreased or increased in accordance with orders of the Telangana Government.

Tutor and Junior Resident Vacancies

Eligibility follows the Teachers Eligibility Qualifications In Medical Institutions Regulations, 2025, of the National Medical Commission (NMC). Outside-state candidates must get their qualification registered with the Telangana State Medical Council within one week of selection, for their appointment to be confirmed.

Selected faculty will be paid a fixed consolidated monthly remuneration as per G.O. Rt. No. 1276, Finance (HRM.VII) Department, dated 16 July 2026. The remuneration is all-inclusive and subject to tax deduction at source and other statutory deductions.

Marks obtained in the MD/MS/DNB PG degree for Assistant Professor posts; marks obtained in MBBS for Tutor and Junior Resident posts (if marks are not awarded in the qualifying exam, 50% marks will be considered) For Professor and Associate Professor posts, duration of teaching experience in that cadre is considered DNB candidates will be selected as per the latest TEQ Regulations 2025 of the NMC Selection is nationwide, with first preference given to local candidates; candidates from other states will be considered if local candidates are not available Candidates due to complete Senior Residency in the first week of December 2026 are eligible, if qualified candidates are otherwise unavailable

Report to the Office of the Director, Government Medical College, Mahabubnagar, Edira Campus, Thirulmalla Hills, on 15-09-2026, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Carry all original certificates along with the filled application and photocopies for verification. Attend the interview. Results will be declared on 17-09-2026, and selected candidates must join duty by 30-09-2026. There is no online or postal application process for this recruitment - candidates must appear in person on the interview date.

This is a purely temporary contract appointment up to 31-03-2027, or till vacancies are filled by promotion/regular appointment, whichever is earlier; it does not confer any right to future government appointment. Selected faculty are eligible for 15 days of leave per calendar year, on a cumulative basis. If a selected candidate does not join, the next eligible merit candidate will be selected. Selected candidates must submit a bond on Rs. 100 stamp paper, duly notarized, to the Director, GMC Mahabubnagar. Breaking the bond requires paying 3 months' salary.
