  1. The pay structure for this post follows the fixed-pay model applicable to new government recruits in Gujarat, followed by regular pay scale placement
  2. For the first five years, selected candidates will be appointed on a fixed monthly pay of Rs. 49,600/-, along with other benefits as per the relevant Finance Department resolutions. The selection process is based on a single-stage Computer Based Response Test (CBRT)/OMR-based competitive examination consisting of objective-type MCQ questions, divided into Part-A and Part-B. | Important points about the examination: | The exam consists of a total of 210 questions (90 in Part-A and 120 in Part-B) to be completed in a combined duration of 3 hours (180 minutes). Negative marking applies: for every wrong answer, 1/4th of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted. A provisional answer key will be published after the exam, followed by a final answer key after considering objections raised by candidates. Separate minimum qualifying standards of 40% apply to both Part-A and Part-B for all categories of candidates. | Part-B covers technical subjects relevant to Mechanical Engineering diploma holders. The major topics include Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Power Engineering, I.C. Engines, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning, Engineering Mechanics, Mechanics of Materials, Kinematics and Theory of Machines, Engineering Materials, Manufacturing Processes, Metrology and Inspection, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Operations Research, and Current Trends in these fields.
