Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kancheepuram is an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, located at Melakottaiyur, Off Vandalur - Kelambakkam Road, Chennai-600127. The recruitment is conducted for a Research and Development position under the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering for a project funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) led by Principal Investigator Dr. Uttam Mrinal Pal.

Candidates must meet the essential educational qualifications and age limits prescribed for the position. First-class postgraduate degree, including integrated PG degrees; or Second Class Post Graduate Degree, including integrated PG degrees with PhD; or For Engineering – First Class Graduate Degree of Four Years. Proficiency in 3D modeling and mechanical design using SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Fusion 360 to prototype ergonomic, clinically safe medical imaging probes, along with familiarity with rapid prototyping workflows (e.g., 3D printing and slicing software). Experience using Simulation Tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics or ANSYS for structural, thermal, or optomechanical simulations to validate the design, safety, and reliability of the probe. The selected candidate will receive a stipend of ₹ 28,000 plus 30% House Rent Allowance (HRA). The 30% HRA will be paid if no accommodation is provided by the Institute. The position is purely on a contractual basis and will continue until 01st June 2027.

The selection process consists of a written test followed by an interview. The topic for the written test along with the syllabus will be shared later. Candidates should be present physically at IIITDM Kancheepuram located at Chennai - 600127 for the written test and/or interview.

The post is purely on a contractual basis. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Candidates must produce all original educational and experience certificates during verification at the interview. Candidates currently working in Central, State, Semi-Govt, PSU, or Autonomous Bodies of the Government must submit an NOC issued by their present employer if applicable.
