50 years (preferably under 35 years). Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, as prescribed by the funding agency. The qualifying degree must be from a recognized University/Institution. The prescribed educational qualifications are the bare minimum, so include every relevant qualification and all experience in the application form. Shortlisting: if the number of applications received is high, a Selection Committee shortlists candidates. Interview: shortlisted candidates receive the interview information by email.

The tenure of the post is 3 years, with an initial appointment for 6 months and continuance upon satisfactory performance. The appointment is on contract and purely temporary. It will terminate automatically on closure of the research project, without any further notice or compensation. Appointment is governed by the terms and conditions laid down by the funding agency for the specific project and post. The appointed candidate has no right to claim appointment or absorption into the job supported by the funding agency or IISER Thiruvananthapuram, either during the project or after its closure. Selected candidates are required to join duty at the earliest on receipt of the offer letter.
