Assistant Professor Grade II: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout. Assistant Professor Grade I: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout. Minimum three years of industrial/ research/ teaching experience, excluding, however, the experience gained while pursuing Ph.D. Assistant Professor Grade II (School of Innovation): Ph.D., the qualifications and experience criteria are as per Institute General Eligibility Criteria (Ref. Point 8 (a)). Candidates without a Ph.D. satisfying all criteria of Assistant Professor Grade I, except having only 5+ years of teaching / research / professional experience, may be appointed as Assistant Professor Grade II with appropriate pay based on the number of years of experience.

Assistant Professor Grade II: Maximum age limit is 32 years. Assistant Professor Grade I: Maximum age limit is 35 years. Age relaxation will be as per government rules.

Assistant Professor Grade II: Pay Level 10 (₹70,900 - ₹1,39,140) per month. Assistant Professor Grade I: Pay Level 12 (₹1,01,500 - ₹1,94,220) per month.
