The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Chhattisgarh, Raipur, released the Round 1 state merit list (rank list) for NEET UG 2026 admissions on August 18, 2026. Along with the main state merit list, DME also published a separate NRI eligible candidates list on the same date. Both lists are available on the official Chhattisgarh medical counselling portal and determine which candidates can proceed to Round 1 seat allotment for MBBS and BDS admission under the state's 85% quota seats.

Seat Matrix: MBBS and BDS Seats on Offer

According to the Round 1 seat matrix published by DME Chhattisgarh, the following seats are up for allotment in this round across government and private institutions:

Named participating institutes include Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial (JNM) Medical College, Raipur; Chhattisgarh Institute of Medical Sciences (CIMS), Bilaspur; and Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee Memorial Government Medical College, Rajnandgaon, along with other government and private medical and dental colleges in the state. The complete college-wise seat breakdown is available only in the official seat matrix document on the DME portal; candidates should verify individual college and category-wise seat counts there before finalising their preference order, since seat numbers can shift slightly between rounds as vacancies are added or withdrawn.

What Information the Merit List Contains

The Chhattisgarh NEET UG merit list is published as a PDF and typically includes:

• Candidate's name
• NEET UG roll number and application number
• Category (General/EWS/OBC/SC/ST/PwBD, as applicable)
• NEET UG score and percentile
• All India NEET rank
• Chhattisgarh state merit rank

Important Instructions for Candidates

• Registering only for MCC's All India Quota counselling does not make a candidate eligible for any Chhattisgarh state quota seat. The two processes are separate and must be completed independently.
• Choices, once locked during choice filling, generally cannot be edited, so candidates should rank colleges by genuine preference before locking.
• Missing the reporting window at the allotted institute typically results in forfeiture of the allotted seat.
• Keep scanned copies of all required documents ready in the file format and size specified by the portal before starting registration, to avoid last-minute upload issues.
• Cross-check all official dates directly on the DME Chhattisgarh counselling portal, as counselling schedules can be revised or extended.
