IOL Vacancy 2026 is spread across four post categories, with category-wise (UR/SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/EWS) reservation given in parentheses where specified in the notification. Horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) is applied within the totals shown, as detailed in the official notification. Within the Project Technician category, additional horizontal reservation for PwBD (Category b/c/d as applicable) and Ex-Servicemen is specified post-wise in the official notification and should be verified there for exact category-wise breakup.

For Junior Project Engineer posts, General/OBC(NCL)/EWS candidates need a minimum of 60% aggregate marks and SC/ST/PwBD candidates a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the essential qualifying exam. Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply for all posts.

An annual increment of 3% (rounded to the next ₹10) of basic pay applies during the tenure, subject to satisfactory performance assessment, for Project Technician, Welfare Officer, and Junior Project Engineer posts.

The application fee is NIL for all four post categories - Project Technician, Welfare Officer, Junior Project Engineer, and Consultant (Coordination).

Project Technician: Screening and shortlisting for a Trade Test (Practical) based on percentage of marks in the final NTC/NAC examination (candidates called at twice the number of positions); the Trade Test is qualifying in nature, and final merit is based solely on NTC/NAC marks. Welfare Officer: Screening of applications, shortlisting for interview (twice the number of positions) based on percentage of marks in the Bachelor's Degree, followed by a personal interview; final merit is based on interview performance.
