The 11 notified vacancies are spread across two locations under the Mail Motor Service, Bengaluru. The notification states that the vacancies and divisions are subject to change, and the competent authority reserves the right to allot the division based on the merit list. Eligibility for this India Post Staff Car Driver Recruitment 2026 is limited to serving government employees, considered in the following order of preference. Regular Dispatch Riders (Group C) or MTS (Group C) employees within the Department of Posts, in Pay Matrix Level-1 (₹18,000–₹56,900, 7th CPC). Must hold a valid driving licence for Light and Heavy Motor Vehicles, and competence will be assessed through a driving test. Officials holding the post of Dispatch Rider on a regular basis, or regular Group C employees in Pay Matrix Level-1 (₹18,000–₹56,900) in other Ministries, who meet the following: Possession of a valid driving licence for Light and Heavy Motor Vehicles Knowledge of motor mechanism (able to remove minor defects in vehicles) At least three years of experience driving Light and Heavy Motor Vehicles Pass in the 10th standard from a recognised Board or institute Desirable q

The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation/absorption is 56 years as on the closing date for receipt of applications. The application proforma (Annexure-I) additionally asks candidates to compute their age as on 30.09.2026.

Selection is based on a driving test and trade test, conducted as per the pattern and syllabus prescribed vide Directorate letter No. F.No.08-01/2019-SPN-I dated 17.06.2022, to assess the candidate's competence in driving Light and Heavy Motor Vehicles. The final allotment of division (Bengaluru or Mysuru) will be based on the merit list, at the discretion of the competent authority.

Applications must be submitted in duplicate, in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-I), together with a certificate from the forwarding authority (Annexure-II) and the following documents: Integrity Certificate List of major/minor penalties imposed during the last 10 years (or a "NIL" certificate if none) Vigilance Clearance Certificate Attested photocopies of APAR for the last five years (2020-21 to 2024-25), attested on each page by a Gazetted Officer wherever applicable Experience certificate for driving LMV and HMV vehicles for three years, attested by a Gazetted Officer Valid driving licence for LMV and HMV, attested by a Gazetted Officer 10th standard certificate, attested by a Gazetted Officer Caste certificate, if applicable (for SC/ST candidates, to be verified at a later stage)

Applications not forwarded through proper channel, or received without the requisite certificates and documents listed above, will not be entertained. Incomplete applications, or those missing required documents, will be rejected without notice. Candidates who apply will not be permitted to withdraw their candidature subsequently. In case of any discrepancy, the English version of the notification is treated as final.
