The Indian Air Force has advertised one Hindi Typist vacancy under Headquarters Southern Air Command. The notification states that the number of vacancies may vary. The concerned Air Force unit also reserves the right to change the number of vacancies or reservation status before selection.

Candidates must have passed Class 12 from a recognized Board and possess the prescribed computer typing speed. 12th Class pass from a recognized Board. Typing speed of 35 words per minute in English on computer, or Typing speed of 30 words per minute in Hindi on computer. The typing requirement is based on 10,500 key depressions per hour for English or 9,000 key depressions per hour for Hindi, calculated using an average of five key depressions per word. Yes. Class 12 is the minimum educational qualification. However, applicants must also meet the typing requirement, age criteria, reservation conditions and other rules specified in the notification.

The prescribed age limit is 18 to 25 years. Age is determined as on the last date of receipt of applications. Eligible OBC candidates can receive three years of relaxation in the upper age limit, making the applicable upper limit 28 years for qualifying OBC applicants. The notification also refers to relaxation for eligible SC/ST/EWS/PwBD/ESM candidates under applicable Government rules. Candidates must verify the relevant provisions and reservation eligibility before claiming any relaxation.

The Hindi Typist post carries Pay Level 2 under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC). Candidates should not confuse the starting basic pay with the final in-hand salary.

The Indian Air Force will scrutinize applications based on age, educational qualification, documents and certificates. Eligible candidates may be called for a written examination. Selection according to written examination merit and applicable eligibility requirements. The written examination carries 100% weightage in the marking system. The typing skill test is qualifying in nature only. Merely meeting the minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee a call for the examination.

The written examination will cover the following subjects:

Candidates shortlisted for the skill test must demonstrate the prescribed typing speed on a computer. The prescribed speeds correspond to 10,500 key depressions per hour in English and 9,000 key depressions per hour in Hindi. The skill test is qualifying only and does not carry additional weightage in the written examination marking system. The educational qualification section specifies 35 WPM in English or 30 WPM in Hindi on computer. Candidates should follow the language options and instructions provided by the recruiting unit for the typing test.

Applicants must submit the prescribed application form along with self-attested copies of the relevant documents. Class 12 educational qualification certificate. Age-proof document. The examination centre and schedule will be communicated to candidates through the prescribed process. The examination centre may differ from the place to which the application was sent. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written examination. Selected candidates may be subject to All India Service Liability, as stated in the notification.
