IOCL Bongaigaon has notified 58 apprentice seats in three codes. The qualification must be a regular full-time course from a recognised University/Institute in the relevant discipline, with minimum 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST and PwBD candidates for seats reserved for them). Where CGPA/OGPA or letter grade is awarded, the equivalent aggregate percentage must be entered in the online application, and a conversion certificate from the University/Institute must be submitted at document verification. If the date of declaration of result is not on the mark sheet, a certificate from the Principal giving the result publication date is required.

The age limit is minimum 18 years and maximum 24 years as on 30.09.2026 for General and EWS candidates. Only the Matriculation (Class X) mark sheet/certificate issued by the Board of Secondary Education is accepted as age proof. A PwBD candidate availing only age relaxation (no relaxation in qualification marks) is considered against an unreserved seat in order of merit before being considered against a reserved seat. Stipend per month is payable as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, the Apprentices Rules 1992 (as amended) and the Corporation's guidelines. Unfilled SC/ST seats may be filled by ST/SC candidates on merit; if still unfilled, first by OBC and then by unreserved candidates. Selected candidates must meet the physical fitness standards under the Apprentices Act and amendments. Candidates should read the 'Guidelines and Criteria for pre-engagement medical examinations' on www.iocl.com. PwBD medical examination follows the RPwD Act, 2016. Only candidates declared fit are engaged. Candidates with reported ailments, deficiencies or abnormalities must declare them in the application. Candidates declared unfit in a medical examination by any refinery unit or PSU, while seeking apprenticeship or regular employment in the past, must declare it with reasons.
