Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata will conduct a walk-in-interview on 30 July 2026 for recruitment of Project Linked Research Scientist I and Project Linked Research Scientist II (Non-medical) in the ICMR funded project titled “Response to 5-aza-2'-deoxycytidine (decitabine) therapy in activating fetal haemoglobin (HbF) among HbE/β-thalassemia patients: development of a machine learning based predictive model”. For Category ‘A’ (Research Scientist I): Essential: First class P.G. degree (including integrated PG) in any branch of Biological Science OR Second class PG degree with Ph.D. in any branch of Biological Science. Desirable: At least three years research experience in molecular biology, handling clinical samples, nucleic acid isolation, disease genomics with relevant publications. For Category ‘B’ (Research Scientist II): Essential: First class P.G. degree with 03 years research experience OR Second class PG degree with Ph.D. in any branch of Biological Science. Desirable: Experience in Molecular Biology, Disease Genomics, DNA Sequencing, handling clinical samples, Hemoglobinopathies, and Thalassaemia with relevant publications.

Category A: Should not exceed 35 years Category B: Should not exceed 40 years (as on 30 July 2026, with relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Women/Differently abled as per Govt. rules)

Category A: ₹56,000/- + HRA per month Category B: ₹67,000/- + HRA per month

Appointments are purely temporary and contractual. No claim for regular appointment or continuation in any other project. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
