  3. neonatology: DM in the concerned discipline from a recognized University/Institute or equivalent qualification
  4. ctvs: MS/DNB in General Surgery and MCh/DNB in CTVS are eligible. Candidates who completed MCh Vascular Surgery or DNB Vascular Surgery are also eligible
  5. pulmonary medicine: DM in Pulmonary Medicine from a recognized University/Institute may also apply
  6. dental department (dentistry – prosthodontics): DCI-recognized postgraduate dental degree of MDS (Prosthodontics & Crown and Bridge) from a recognized University/Institute
  7. prior senior residency: Applicants should not have completed 3 years Senior Residency under Residency Schemes in any Government Medical Institution (regular or ad hoc/contract basis). Duration already completed will be reduced from the 3-year tenure offered

Stage-I: Written Test (Objective Type) | Shortlisting Ratio for Interview: | Minimum Eligibility Score in Written Test to qualify for Interview: | Stage-II: Interview | The Interview carries 20 marks based on performance, prizes, medals, awards, paper publications, etc. Certificate Verification will be conducted for shortlisted candidates on the same day (from 08:00 AM). JIPMER Senior Resident Recruitment 2026 : Important Instructions

Mere completion of registration and payment does not confer any right for appointment. The full name in the application must match exactly (spelling and order) with the Government Photo ID and undergraduate Degree Certificate. If there is a mismatch, get it rectified before applying. Applications without prescribed fee or incomplete in any respect will be summarily rejected. No correspondence/reconsideration for rejected applications. The application once submitted is FINAL. No changes will be entertained. If an error is found, a fresh application with a new fee payment must be submitted; the earlier application will stand cancelled automatically. OBC (NCL) Certificate must be in Central Government format (Annexure-I), must mention "does not belong to Creamy Layer", and must be issued in the current financial year. EWS Certificate must be in the format prescribed (Annexure-III) and must be valid (current FY 2026-27). SC/ST Certificate must be in the prescribed format (Annexure-II). Candidates currently employed in Government/PSU/Autonomous Bodies must produce a valid NOC from their employer; without it, they will not be allowed to appear for the Interview. Candidates should not have completed 3 years of Senior Residency (regular or ad hoc/contract) in any Government Medical Institution. PwBD reservation is 4% on a horizontal basis. Minimum benchmark disability is 40%. The degree of disability will be assessed by JIPMER Medical Board, whose decision is final. Mobile phones, accessories, and other electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited inside examination premises. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the written test or interview. Selected candidates must join within 15 days of offer of appointment. Extension of 14 days may be granted in exceptional cases. No further extension will be permitted. The appointment is full-time; private practice of any kind is strictly prohibited. All information including results, interview dates, and updates will be published only on the JIPMER website (www.jipmer.edu.in). Candidates must visit regularly. Appointment is subject to being declared medically fit by JIPMER's competent Medical Board. All disputes are subject to legal jurisdiction of the Union Territory of Puducherry.
