JKSSB Recruitment 2026 - Online Application Postponed for 130 Electrician, Plumber and More Posts

A total of 130 vacancies have been notified across six departments: Agriculture Production Department (Animal Husbandry/Sheep Husbandry/Horticulture) ARI & Trainings Department (Govt. Press Srinagar, Ranbir Govt. Press Jammu) Industries & Commerce Department (Handicrafts & Handloom, Jammu & Kashmir) Higher Education Department (Director Colleges, Jammu & Kashmir) Home Department (Forensic Science Laboratory, Prison Department – UT Cadre) Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs Department (UT Cadre) The posts include Boiler Mechanic, Senior Horticulture Technician, Machineman, Binder, Head Weaver, Computer Assistant, Library Assistant, Laboratory Assistant, Electrician Grade-II, Plumber Grade-II, Tailor, and others.

Only domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir with a valid domicile certificate issued by the competent authority on or before 21-07-2026 are eligible. Educational qualification is post-specific, ranging from 10+2, Matric + ITI, Diploma in Engineering/Technology, Graduate, B.Lib, BCA/Graduate with Computer Diploma, B.Sc. (Forensic/Medical/Non-Medical), etc., as detailed in the notification for each Item Number.

Maximum age limits (not born before the date given) are: Open Merit (OM): 40 years (01-01-1986 to 01-01-2008) SC/ST/RBA/ALC/IB/EWS/OBC: 43 years (01-01-1983 to 01-01-2008) PwBD: 42 years (01-01-1984 to 01-01-2008) Ex-Servicemen (ESM): 48 years (01-01-1978 to 01-01-2008)

Selection will be based on merit in a Written/OMR-based objective examination only. The exam will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in English, and there will be negative marking of 1/4th of the marks for each wrong answer. After the written exam, shortlisted candidates will undergo Document Verification, and finally a medical fitness check as per J&K Government norms.

You should not apply if: You are not a domicile of J&K or do not possess a valid domicile certificate by 21-07-2026. You do not have the exact essential qualification for the specific post as per the notification. You belong to OBC Creamy Layer but want OBC reservation benefits. You cannot produce original certificates at Document Verification, or you enter incorrect personal details (name, DOB, parent’s name) differing from Matric certificate. You are above the maximum age limit for your category as on 01-01-2026.

Candidates must apply online only through jkssb.nic.in during 22-06-2026 to 21-07-2026 Postponed. The steps are: Register/Login on the JKSSB portal. Fill in personal, academic, and category details correctly as per your Matric certificate and original documents. Upload live photograph, scanned signature, domicile, qualification, category and other certificates in the prescribed size and format. Pay the online application fee. Submit the form and take a printout of the final application for Document Verification.
