The official JNU admissions portal lists the following as the current deadline for UG and COP registration. The exact date on which registration opened is not stated on the pages reviewed; the portal shows the forms as "Live" with a common closing date.

Programmes Offered

JNU's UG-level admissions are limited in scope compared to its postgraduate offerings - most JNU disciplines such as Political Science, Economics, History, and International Studies admit students only at the Master's level. At the UG stage, JNU offers only the following through CUET (UG) 2026:

• B.A. (Hons.) in Foreign Languages - a four-year programme (as per NEP 2020) offered in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Pashto, Russian, and Spanish, through the School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies (SLL&CS).
• B.Sc. in Ayurveda Biology - a four-year programme offered by the School of Sanskrit and Indic Studies (SSIS).
• Certificate of Proficiency (COP) programmes - one-year, part-time courses in Pashto, Uzbek, Hebrew, Mongolian, Bahasa Indonesia, Urdu, Pali, Sanskrit, Sanskrit Computational Linguistics, Yoga Philosophy, Vedic Culture, Natya Shastra, Health Awareness and Wellness, and Indian Philosophy.

B.A. (Hons.) in Foreign Languages

• Senior School Certificate (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognised Board/University with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.
• Candidates who are due to appear in their 10+2 (or equivalent) examination in 2026 are also eligible to apply.
• For B.A. (Hons.) in Arabic, candidates holding a Certificate of Alimiah/equivalent madrasa qualification with at least 45% marks from specified institutions are also eligible, subject to conditions listed in the official e-Prospectus.
• 80% of seats in the B.A. (Hons.) programme are reserved for candidates who passed their qualifying (10+2) exam in 2025 or are appearing in 2026; the remaining 20% are open to all other candidates.

B.Sc. in Ayurveda Biology

• At least a Senior School Certificate (10+2), or an examination recognised as equivalent, with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.

Certificate of Proficiency (COP) Programmes

• At least a Senior School Certificate (10+2), or an equivalent examination, with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.

Note: All OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates are eligible for a 10% relaxation in the qualifying-exam percentage relative to the open category. SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) candidates who have passed the qualifying examination are eligible to appear irrespective of the percentage of marks scored.

CUET (UG) 2026 Subject Requirements

Reservation Policy

As per the Government of India's reservation policy, applicable to all UG and COP programmes at JNU:

JNU also awards "deprivation points" (up to a maximum of 12) to eligible candidates from specified Quartile 1 and Quartile 2 districts, Kashmiri migrants, and female/transgender candidates, as detailed in the official e-Prospectus. This benefit applies to UG, PG, COP, and ADOP programmes, but not to B.Tech, M.Sc. (Biotechnology), M.Sc. (Computational and Integrative Sciences), MBA, DOP, or Ph.D. admissions.

Selection Process

• Admission to B.A. (Hons.), B.Sc., and COP programmes is based entirely on a candidate's performance in CUET (UG) 2026, a Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
• No viva voce (interview) is held for admission to these programmes.
• Final merit is calculated using the CUET (UG) 2026 score combined with any applicable deprivation points.
• In case of a tie in Under Graduate/COP programme merit, preference is given first to higher marks in the qualifying (10+2) examination, and then to higher marks in Class 10 if the tie persists. A candidate whose qualifying result has been declared is given preference over one whose result is still pending.
• Candidates must apply separately on the JNU admission portal after CUET (UG) 2026 results are declared by NTA; a CUET score alone does not guarantee a JNU seat.

Required Documents

Based on the official e-Prospectus, candidates should keep the following ready for online upload and later physical verification:

• Class 10 marksheet and certificate (proof of date of birth)
• Class 12 (10+2) marksheet and passing certificate, or provisional certificate if the result is awaited
• CUET (UG) 2026 scorecard/result
• Category certificate, where applicable: SC/ST caste certificate, OBC Non-Creamy Layer certificate (issued in the current financial year), EWS income and assets certificate, or PWD disability certificate in the prescribed format
• Recent passport-size photograph and scanned signature
• Anti-ragging affidavit
• Migration certificate (required at the time of admission)
• Documents for supernumerary-seat claims, if applicable (e.g., Defence personnel wards' certificate, J&K/Ladakh domicile proof, PM CARES for Children certificate)

How to Apply for JNU UG and COP Registration 2026

• Visit the official JNU admissions portal at jnuee.jnu.ac.in.
• Under "Important Links," select the relevant "Registration Form Is Live" link for your programme - B.A. (Hons.), B.Sc., or COP.
• Register using your basic details to create an application login, if you have not already done so.
• Fill in personal, academic, and CUET (UG) 2026 details in the online application form.
• Upload the required documents (marksheets, certificates, photograph, signature) as specified on the portal.
• Pay the application fee through the available online payment method, once the fee amount is confirmed on the portal.
• Review all entries carefully, then submit the form and download or print the confirmation page for your records.

The entire process is online; JNU does not accept offline applications for UG or COP admission.
