Konkan Railway Office Boy/Helper/Khalasi Recruitment 2026 – Walk in for 30 Posts

Note: The number of posts is liable to change as per the requirement of the Project. A panel of standby candidates over and above the notified requirement will also be maintained as per merit, and may be engaged as per KRCL's requirement within the validity of the panel. These are not regular establishment posts.

Consolidated remuneration is inclusive of Basic, DA, HRA, Conveyance, and Mobile Allowance. It will increase by 4% after completion of every year, subject to KRCL's requirement and discretion. New Labour Code-2026 provisions (Insurance, Payment of Gratuity, Bonus) applicable as applicable. TA as per KRCL policy, for official travel beyond the project area. Complementary Railway Pass for travel on duty; road-travel reimbursement per KRCL policy. KRCL Rest House while on duty, if available; otherwise hotel-charge reimbursement on production of vouchers. Leave: 15 days fully-earned leave per completed 6 months (2.5 days/month, accumulable but not encashable), plus 8 days Casual Leave per year of contract, plus applicable weekly-off and public holidays.

Assist technicians/artisans (fitters, welders, electricians, carpenters) in POH/NPOH activities, including repairs and maintenance of rolling stock, wheel sets, bogies, springs, and alternators. Carry out material handling within workshop premises – lifting, shifting, loading/unloading of spares, wheels, and components; support tool handling, cleaning, and arrangement for maintenance activities. Maintain shop-floor housekeeping, cleanliness of machines/tools, proper disposal of waste; provide basic office support (file handling, document movement, upkeep of office areas) as assigned by controlling officials.

OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates: 3 years, when applying against the OBC-NCL reserved post. SC/ST candidates: 5 years, when applying against the SC/ST reserved post. Ex-Servicemen: relaxation is discretionary.

Candidates report and register with the nominated KRCL official at the walk-in venue. A Group Discussion (GD) or another elimination round (such as a written test) may be introduced depending on the number of candidates; only those who clear this round proceed further. After preliminary screening of the applications submitted in person, only provisionally eligible candidates are interviewed by a nominated Committee. The final merit list is drawn based on interview performance, qualification, and post-qualification experience. The decision of the Nominated Committee of KRCL is final and binding. Selected candidates must pass a prescribed medical examination for fitness before the contract is entered into, and must be able to join at the project site/place of posting within a maximum of 30 days after the offer of appointment.

Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria may report directly for the walk-in interview at the venue and time above. Bring all original certificates, along with one copy of the application prepared in the prescribed format (Annexure-A). Bring one set of self-attested copies of all required certificates (age proof, qualification, experience, caste certificate, etc.). Important: Candidates should come prepared to stay a minimum of 2 days, if required, at their own cost. No train/bus fare or TA/DA is payable by the Corporation. Applications not conforming to the prescribed format, or with illegible/ambiguous or missing certificates, or incomplete information, will be summarily rejected.

Initial contract period is 1 year, extendable up to 5 years based on satisfactory performance; KRCL may terminate the contract if performance is found unsatisfactory during the contract period. Selected candidates will be posted at the Rolling Stock Component Factory, Lote, but can be posted/transferred anywhere within KRCL establishment during the contract period, based on requirement. Selected candidates must execute an agreement and an indemnity bond of ₹50,000 in favour of KRCL, on a stamp paper of ₹100 or more.
