Important: Candidates with an engineering degree in any other branch, or who appeared in a GATE discipline other than specified above, are not eligible to apply. The GATE score is valid only if it meets or exceeds the qualifying marks fixed by the GATE conducting authority.

Note: SC, ST and OBC-NCL candidates applying against UR vacancies will not get any age relaxation. Requisite category/relaxation certificates must be submitted in original at the time of Document Verification (DV).

Age Relaxation

Selected candidates will be eligible for all pay, perks and allowances (CDA scale) applicable to regular KRCL employees at the given level, as per extant rules.

Selection is based on valid GATE score and does not involve a separate written exam conducted by KRCL. The process is as follows: Only GATE 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 scores are valid for this recruitment. Based on valid GATE scores, candidates up to 10 times the notified vacancies (category-wise) will be shortlisted in order of merit for Document Verification (DV). Only candidates who qualify Document Verification proceed to Presentation and Personal Interview. Minimum qualifying marks: 60% each in Presentation and Personal Interview. Final merit is based on aggregate marks, subject to medical fitness for the respective post. A select panel plus a standby panel will be prepared, valid for one year from declaration of results. Tie-breaker: older candidate ranked higher; if age is also equal, alphabetical order (A–Z) of name is used.

Serving KRCL employees with at least 3 years of regular service are also eligible to apply, subject to informing their supervisor and D&AR/Vigilance clearance. Candidates found medically unsuitable for the opted post will not be given any alternative appointment; medical examination expenses are borne by the candidate. Selected candidates must execute a service agreement bond to complete training/probation (2 years) and thereafter serve KRCL for at least 3 years, failing which training/probation costs with 12.5% interest are recoverable. Selection by KRCL does not confer any right of appointment; appointment is subject to vacancy availability and satisfying all eligibility criteria.
