• Stage Details
• Preliminary Screening Verification of applications and documents submitted in person. Only provisionally eligible candidates allowed to proceed.
• Elimination Round (if required) Group Discussion (GD) or Written Test may be introduced depending on number of candidates.
• Interview By nominated Committee of KRCL. Merit list drawn based on performance in interview, qualification, and post-qualification experience.
• The selection process for KRCL Mechanical Department Recruitment 2026 is through Walk-in Interview. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria may report directly for the walk-in interview at the specified venue with all original certificates and one copy of application in prescribed format (Annexure-A) along with one set of self-attested copies of all required certificates. Registration will be done between 09:00 hrs and 12:00 hrs only on the date of walk-in interview.
• After preliminary screening of applications submitted in person
• only provisionally eligible candidates will be interviewed. Group Discussion (GD) or any other elimination round like written test may be introduced depending on the number of candidates; only those who clear the elimination round will be called for further selection. The nominated Committee’s decision shall be final and binding. No train/bus fare/TA/DA shall be payable by KRCL for attending the walk-in interview. Candidates should come prepared to stay for a minimum of 2 days if required
• at their own cost.

• Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria may report directly for the walk-in interview at the venue on the specified date and time for their respective post. Candidates must fill and bring one copy of the application in the prescribed format (Annexure-A attached with the notification), available on the KRCL website at www.konkanrailway.com under Recruitment > Current Notifications. No online or offline application submission by post/courier is required – candidates must appear in person.
• Registration time is strictly 09:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs only on the date of walk-in interview. Applications not conforming to the prescribed format or having illegible/ambiguous certificates or without certificates or incomplete will be summarily rejected. Any kind of canvassing will result in disqualification of the candidate at any stage of selection without assigning any reason.
• Documents (Self-attested copies) to be attached with the filled application form:
• Copies of certificate in proof of qualification (as per the qualification specified in the Notification Annexure)
• Copy of proof of Date of Birth (SSLC/SSC Certificate/Birth Certificate)
• Copy of Caste certificate in support of claims, if any (OBC-NCL certificate in prescribed Central Government format; certificate not indicating validity will not be accepted)
• Copy of service certificate in support of claims for Ex-servicemen, if any
• Experience Certificate issued by previous employer
• Two passport size recent photographs
• Character certificate from Gazetted Officer/Executive Officer certifying good moral character
• All original certificates must also be brought for verification at the time of the walk-in interview. Selected candidates will be required to pass a prescribed medical examination before the contract is entered into. Selected candidates must be able to join within a maximum of 30 days after issuance of offer of appointment. Selected candidates will be required to execute an agreement and indemnity bond of Rs. 50,000/- in favour of KRCL on stamp paper of Rs. 100/- or more.
• Walk-in Interview Venue: Administrative Building, Wagon Repair Workshop, Autonagar, Vadlapudi, Gajuwaka, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

• Candidates must ensure they fulfill the eligibility criteria before attending the walk-in interview for a particular post. Registration time is strictly 09:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs only on the date of the walk-in interview; late arrivals will not be registered. Candidate can appear for interview at this one venue only; no TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in interview. This engagement is on a fixed term contract basis and shall not result in regular/permanent absorption in KRCL service. Candidates must give an undertaking in writing to KRCL to this effect. Selected candidate can be posted and transferred at any time, anywhere to the KRCL establishment during the contract period. Contract may be terminated by giving one month’s notice from either side or payment in lieu thereof. Contract can be terminated without notice if performance is not satisfactory. No accommodation will be provided and no Food/Mess Allowance will be paid by KRCL. Even after contractual agreement, if any document/certificate/information is found incorrect or false, contractual service will be immediately terminated without prior notice, besides legal action. Candidates who are already working in KRCL on contract basis and selected against this notification do not require to follow the condition of notice period for joining the new post; however, a relieving letter from the concerned Konkan Railway authority will be required at the time of joining. The Corporation reserves the right to cancel/restrict/curtail/enlarge the contract engagement process without any prior notice and without assigning any reason. Any kind of canvassing will result in disqualification of the candidate at any stage of selection without assigning any reason.
