The age limit is fixed as per the Karnataka Gazetted Probationers (Recruitment through Competitive Examinations) Rules, 1997. As per Government Order No. Sikasu-262, Session-2025, dated 29-01-2026, a one-time additional age relaxation of 5 years has been extended to the maximum age limit for recruitment to these posts. With this relaxation, the applicable maximum age limits for this notification are as follows: Age is reckoned as on the last date fixed for submission of applications. KPSC Assistant Controller & Audit Officer Selection Process

Selection follows a two-stage process under the Karnataka Civil Services (Recruitment) Rules, 2011 - a Preliminary Examination (objective, multiple-choice) followed by a Main Examination (descriptive, written) for candidates shortlisted at the Preliminary stage. The Preliminary Examination question papers are set in both Kannada and English. Marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination are used only for shortlisting candidates for the Main Examination and do not count towards the final merit ranking.
