A total of 68 vacancies are notified for Residual Parent Cadre (RPC) posts in the Karnataka State Audit & Accounts Department. The full category-wise breakup (including sub-splits for women, rural candidates, ex-military persons, and persons with disabilities within each reservation category) is detailed in the official notification. The notification also specifies that 20% of the Category-1 vacancies are reserved for 59 of the most backward castes identified within Category-1, as per the government orders referenced in the notification.

The educational qualification prescribed for both Assistant Controller and Audit Officer posts is identical: Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Commerce (M.Com), or an MBA (Finance), or an MBA (Financial Management), or an MBA/M.Com (Financial Analysis), or any other Master's degree with 'Finance' as one of the subjects, notified by the University Grants Commission, from a university established by law in India. The age limit is fixed as per the Karnataka Gazetted Probationers (Recruitment through Competitive Examinations) Rules, 1997. As per Government Order No. Sikasu-262, Session-2025, dated 29-01-2026, a one-time additional age relaxation of 5 years has been extended to the maximum age limit for recruitment to these posts. With this relaxation, the applicable maximum age limits for this notification are as follows: Age is reckoned as on the last date fixed for submission of applications. Fees can be paid online through net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI. Once paid, the application fee will not be refunded under any circumstances, and it cannot be adjusted towards any other examination or recruitment conducted by the Commission. Selection follows a two-stage process under the Karnataka Civil Services (Recruitment) Rules, 2011 - a Preliminary Examination (objective, multiple-choice) followed by a Main Examination (descriptive, written) for candidates shortlisted at the Preliminary stage.
