Selection is made strictly on a merit basis through a walk-in interview only ; there is no written examination. The decision of the Chairman and Selection Board is final in the event of any dispute, and it is binding on all candidates. The Medical Director reserves the right to change, amend, or cancel the interview scheme at any stage, before or after the interview. Selected candidates must join immediately; failure to do so will lead to automatic cancellation of the offer of appointment.

Candidates must bring original certificates for verification at the time of joining, and self-attested photocopies at the time of application. No TA/DA will be paid to candidates appearing for the interview. Appointment is subject to verification of certificates related to educational qualification, age, DMC registration, FMGE Pass Certificate, and internship completion. Candidates who have concealed information about earlier Junior Resident service (Regular/Adhoc) in any Government Hospital will have their candidature cancelled. The hospital reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts, or to cancel/reject any or all applications without assigning any reason.

Junior Residents are entitled to 2½ days of leave per calendar month; no other leave is granted, and leave does not carry forward to the next month. LTC, pensionary benefits, Group Insurance, Study Leave, and Child Care Leave are not admissible. Maternity leave/Miscarriage leave will be granted as per the provisions of the Maternity Benefits (Amendment) Act 2017 to appointed female Junior Residents. The contract may be terminated by either side with 10 days' notice or salary in lieu thereof.
