A total of 2 (two) posts have been announced for the post of Sub-Inspector of Excise & Narcotics under the Excise & Narcotics Department, Government of Mizoram. The number of posts is provisional and may vary according to the actual requirement. Reservation benefits (if any) will be as per Government of Mizoram norms for SC/ST candidates.

Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the relevant cut-off dates. Only candidates who meet educational, physical, computer proficiency, Mizo language proficiency and age criteria are eligible. Documentary support to prove fulfilment of eligibility conditions should not be dated later than the last date for submission of application.

A candidate must not be less than 18 years and not more than 30 years of age on 1st August, 2026. Upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years in case of ST/SC candidates or as may be notified by the Government from time to time. Persons with disabilities are exempted from payment of application fees. Fees once paid is non-refundable under any circumstances. If payment is to be done through UPI, it may be done using only the mobile number used by the candidate for one-time registration. Exact fee amount is as displayed on the online portal during application.

Selection will be based on Written Examination and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Candidates must meet the prescribed physical standards and qualify in the PET events. Physical measurement shall be conducted before the Physical Efficiency Test. Candidates who do not possess a Graduate degree in Arts, Commerce & Science or its equivalent from a recognised University. Candidates outside the age band 18–30 years as on 01-08-2026 (except notified relaxations for SC/ST). Candidates who fail to meet the prescribed Physical Measurement standards (Height & Chest). Candidates unable to qualify the minimum standards in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) events. Candidates without the required Computer Proficiency as per Mizoram Group ‘A’, ‘B’ & ‘C’ posts Rules, 2023. Candidates who do not possess Mizo Language Proficiency (and are not exempted). Candidates who fail to upload all mandatory documents by the closing date. Candidates who attempt canvassing directly or indirectly. Government servants who do not apply through proper channel.
