Selection is conducted in two stages: Duration: 120 minutes (2 hours) , multiple-choice (MCQ) format, 1 mark per question. A candidate with more than one living spouse is not eligible for appointment. A candidate with more than two children (where one was born on or after 26 January 2001, per MP Civil Services Rules, 1961, Rule 6) is not eligible, subject to specified exceptions. Candidates must submit a physical fitness certificate from the District Medical Board; provisional appointees have 30 days to submit it, failing which the appointment may be terminated. Candidates found to be members of a body declared unlawful, or who have engaged in activities against the Constitution or communal harmony, are ineligible.
