NCL Medical Consultant Recruitment 2026 - Apply Online for 40 Medical Specialist, GDMO Posts

The speciality-wise vacancy table on page 1 of the notification lists 40 positions:

Candidates must possess an MBBS degree from a recognised institute or college approved by the Medical Council of India. They must also hold a recognised postgraduate degree, DNB or postgraduate diploma in the relevant speciality. Retired medical executives must also satisfy the service-record, disciplinary and integrity conditions stated in the notification.

The applicant must not be more than 70 years old during the contract period. The engagement cannot continue after the consultant reaches 70 years of age.

The honorarium will be paid irrespective of the number of patients examined or treated. Consultants will not receive retirement benefits such as gratuity, provident fund, post-retirement medical benefits or pension for the engagement period.

Duties include outdoor and indoor services, operative procedures, village health camps and other medical activities. Consultants may be called for additional visits during an emergency with prior approval from the Chief of Medical Services.

The initial contract will be for one year . It may be extended for one additional year based on satisfactory performance, organisational requirements, availability of vacancies and approval from the competent authority.

NCL may shortlist applicants for the interview or selection process. The selection modalities will follow the qualification and engagement criteria used in open recruitment for the respective medical discipline, except for the specified age and experience conditions. No travelling allowance will be paid to candidates for attending the interview or selection process.

The engagement is part-time and does not provide any right to regular employment in NCL. Medical consultants appointed on an hourly or part-time basis will not receive paid leave. Permanent accommodation will not be provided. Transit accommodation may be provided subject to availability. No TA or DA is payable for attending regular duty.
