NHM Assam has advertised 2,204 Staff Nurse posts, with the category-wise distribution given below. Note that the number of vacancies may vary at the time of recruitment. In addition to these vertical reservation categories, horizontal reservation applies for Persons with Disabilities (PWD), Women, and Ex-Servicemen, "as per Govt. norms" - specific numbers for these horizontal categories are not given in the notification. Candidates must have passed a B.Sc. Nursing or GNM Course from any nursing school/institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council, and must be registered with the Assam Nurses' Midwives' and Health Visitors' Council. The upper age limit is 40 years, as on 01.01.2026, with the following category-wise relaxation and maximum age. Age relaxation applied: SC/ST candidates get 5 years, OBC/MOBC candidates get 3 years, and PWD candidates get 10 years over the base limit of 40 years. The age of candidates will be calculated based on the Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card or Pass Certificate issued by a recognized Board/Council - no other document will be accepted for this purpose.

Selected candidates will receive a remuneration of ₹20,000 per month.

The selection process will be notified separately on the official website of the Directorate of National Health Mission, Assam (nhm.assam.gov.in), in due course of time, along with the list of provisionally shortlisted candidates. Candidates are advised to check the website regularly, as no separate individual call letter will be sent for interview or selection test.
