The recruitment offers multiple project-based positions under the ANRF-PAIR project. The breakdown of vacancies across various roles is as follows:

Candidates must meet the specific educational qualifications and criteria laid down for each post: Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Post Graduate degree in basic science OR Graduate / Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through National Eligibility Tests like CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) and GATE, or National Eligibility Examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DBT, DST, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER, etc. Project Manager (PM): Doctoral Degree in Science or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within R&D, innovation, or technology-driven environments. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the ANRF-PAIR project. Selected candidates for the Junior Research Fellow position will receive ₹37,000/- per month for the first two years and ₹42,000/- per month from the third year onwards. Project Manager consolidated pay starts at ₹60,000/- per month (as per ANRF norms up to ₹1,25,000/-), and Field Assistants receive ₹27,000/- per month plus HRA as per ANRF norms. Shared accommodation shall be provided in the hostel.

The selected candidates will be required to assist in research, operations, and administrative tasks associated with the project. Duties include: Supporting Junior Research Fellows and Co-Principal Investigators with day-to-day operational logistics and experiment setups. Assisting the research team in field visits, surveys, and sample or data collection from mines and nearby industries. Conducting laboratory and experimental activities and maintaining field records. Drafting reports, maintaining survey forms, databases, and photographs.

Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The interview mode is hybrid and is scheduled for 04 November 2026 at 11:00 AM at the department mentioned in Annexure-I of the notification. Only shortlisted candidates will be informed for the online or in-person interview. NIT Rourkela will not pay travel expenses for attending the interview.

Engagement is purely temporary and co-terminus with the completion of the project. No hard copies of the application need to be sent by post. Candidates appearing for their final examination may apply, provided the qualifying degree result is submitted by 30 November 2026. Selected candidates are required to register for the Ph.D. programme. Mereness of minimum qualification does not guarantee an invitation to the interview.
