The educational qualification varies according to the apprenticeship category.

Candidates must have completed a minimum of 18 years of age as prescribed under the Apprentices Act.

Engineering Graduate, Non-Engineering Graduate and Technician Diploma candidates must have passed their qualifying examination in any of the following years: 2022 2023 2024 2025 2026 The year-of-passing condition is not applicable to ITI candidates.

Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend according to their apprenticeship category. The apprenticeship training period is 12 months.

The selection process is merit based. The method differs slightly according to the apprentice category. Selection of Trade Apprentices will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying ITI examination. For Engineering Graduate, Non-Engineering Graduate and Technician Diploma Apprentices, selection will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the relevant Bachelor's Degree or Diploma, calculated according to the procedure followed by the concerned university or institution. If grades or CGPA are awarded instead of percentage marks, conversion will be carried out according to the procedure prescribed by the university or institution. If two or more candidates obtain the same percentage of marks at the cut-off level, preference will be given to the older candidate based on date of birth.

The 7 August 2026 deadline for submitting documents to obtain a PAP certificate applies specifically to candidates applying under the Project Affected Persons category.

Candidates may need to upload the following documents, depending on their apprentice category and eligibility group: Recent passport-size colour photograph Candidate's signature Transfer Certificate Aadhaar Card SSLC/10th Mark Sheet for date of birth proof HSC/12th Mark Sheet, where applicable ITI Certificate for Trade Apprentice candidates ITI semester-wise or consolidated mark sheets Degree/Diploma Certificate, as applicable Semester-wise or consolidated marks sheets Temporary Provisional Certificate, where applicable CGPA/OGPA conversion certificate, where applicable Community Certificate for SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates claiming reservation Disability Certificate for PwBD candidates, where applicable Other category-specific eligibility documents

Eligible PAP candidates must obtain the PAP Certificate issued by the Land Department of NLC India Limited and upload it with the online application. The last date for submission of necessary documents to the Land Department for obtaining the PAP certificate is 7 August 2026.

Reservation for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwBD candidates will be provided as per the Apprentices Act and applicable rules. Candidates claiming reservation must submit the required certificate in the prescribed Government format. OBC Non-Creamy Layer candidates must submit a valid OBC-NCL certificate in the prescribed format valid from 1 April 2026. If the required reservation certificate is not submitted, the candidate will be considered under the General category, subject to meeting the applicable eligibility conditions.
