The category-wise breakup as per the official notification is: Scheduled Caste (SC) – 7, Scheduled Tribe (ST) – 4, Vimukta Jati-A (VJ-A) – 2, Nomadic Tribe-B (NT-B) – 1, Nomadic Tribe-C (NT-C) – 2, Nomadic Tribe-D (NT-D) – 1, Special Backward Category (SBC) – 1, Other Backward Class (OBC) – 11, Socially and Educationally Backward Class (SEBC) – 6, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) – 6, and Open/Unreserved – 15.

MBBS degree from a recognized university. Registration with the Maharashtra Medical Council (or equivalent recognized medical council, as applicable) is mandatory. The qualification must have been obtained from a university/institution recognized by the Government. Maximum age: 70 years, as per the circular of the Mission Director, National Urban Health Mission, dated 25.05.2019, calculated as on the last date of application. Candidates aged 60 years or above are required to submit a physical and mental fitness certificate issued by the District Surgeon along with their application.

This is a fixed monthly honorarium paid under a contractual engagement; it is not a regular pay scale. The engagement is for a period of 6 months, as specified in the notification.

Selection for the Medical Officer (MBBS) post is made directly through a walk-in interview; there is no written examination. Candidates must report for registration, document scrutiny, and verification between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM on the interview date, followed by the interview on the same day. Merit lists for Urban Health Centres functioning under the 15th Finance Commission are prepared based on the priority order in which the centres become operational.
