The recruitment notification provides a total of 9 vacancies distributed across three specific engineering disciplines. Below is the post-wise and category-wise vacancy break-up:

Candidates must meet the specific educational and post-qualification experience requirements prescribed for each post under NTPC Deputy Manager recruitment 2026. For Government/Public Sector Undertakings candidates: Candidates from Govt./Public Sector Undertaking, should have a minimum 02 years of experience in the scale of Rs. 60000-180000 or above (IDA pay scale of E3 grade or above of NTPC effective from 01.01.2017) or equivalent scale out of the above-mentioned 10 years of post-qualification executive experience. Furthermore, candidates must provide an NOC (No Objection Certificate) from their employer while applying for the post.

Selected candidates will be placed in E4 Grade / IDA pay scale ranging from Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 2,00,000.

The selection process consists of shortlisting candidates based on qualification, experience, and other criteria. Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written or computer-based test and/or personal interview, as determined by the management.

Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply. All qualifications must be full-time from Universities or Institutions recognized and approved in India. The upper age limit is 43 years for all posts. Candidates must possess the requisite post-qualification experience as on the last date of receipt of online application. Applicants must furnish all employment details accurately, failing which candidature may be terminated. Candidates employed in Govt./Public Sector Undertakings must provide NOC from the current employer. No application fee is mentioned in the official notification. Posting can be at any of the Stations/Projects/JVs/Subsidiaries of NTPC.
