Applicants must satisfy the minimum educational qualification, age, Odia language proficiency, physical fitness and other requirements relevant to their selected post. Qualification Notice: Constable (Communication) has additional subject-specific or diploma eligibility requirements. An ordinary Higher Secondary qualification without the prescribed subjects or equivalent technical qualification should not be assumed sufficient. Firefighting Driver: Candidates must possess a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving licence by the prescribed cut-off date. Driver PMT: Candidates must possess a valid Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) or HMV driving licence as prescribed. Driving licence validity and the applicable vehicle category will be verified during recruitment. Candidates should refer to the exact driving conditions for their selected post.

The age limit is calculated as on 1 January 2026 and varies by post. Separate service-based provisions apply to Ex-Servicemen, eligible Group-D employees and Home Guards. Candidates claiming these benefits should consult the detailed conditions before applying.

The notification also provides for a refund of the examination fee to eligible applicants who appear in the written examination, subject to the prescribed conditions. The refund is to be processed through the original payment method according to the applicable rules.

The advertised posts carry pay under Level 4 or Level 5 of the ORSP Rules, 2017 , depending on the position.

The recruitment process includes a written examination followed by the applicable physical, driving, medical and verification stages. Written Examination. The Common Written Examination is prescribed for all posts and consists of 100 multiple-choice questions for 100 marks , with a duration of 120 minutes. The examination carries negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer . No marks will be awarded or deducted for unattended questions. Candidates applying for Constable (Communication) must appear in an additional examination based on +2 Science standards. A separate objective examination is prescribed for Firefighting Driver and Driver PMT posts.

Candidates must meet the prescribed minimum height, weight and chest measurements applicable to their category. Physical Measurement is qualifying in nature.

Candidates who qualify in Physical Measurement must complete the prescribed Physical Efficiency Test (PET). PET is qualifying in nature and does not directly contribute marks to the final comparative merit ranking. Additional events, including swimming, rope climbing and load carrying, are prescribed for certain Firefighter and Firefighting Driver candidates. Candidates should check the exact event applicability and performance standards in the official PET table. Ex-AgniVeers are exempted from the Physical Efficiency Test according to the notification, subject to the applicable eligibility conditions.
