Odisha Police SPO Recruitment 2026 Notification Out – Apply Offline for 89 Special Police Officer Posts

A total of 89 vacancies are available for retired police personnel under the DIG of Police, NR, Sambalpur range.

The retired personnel must be a permanent resident of Odisha.

The remuneration for Special Police Officers will be fixed as per Government of Odisha, Finance Department Memo No.24533/F dtd 22.09.2022.

The notification does not mention any application fee.

The selection test includes verification of original documents, medical test, physical test, and interview, held at Reserve Police Ground Sambalpur. A Medical Board shall test the physical fitness of the candidates, and the decision of the Board is final and binding. Persons with physical deformities shall not be eligible for appointment. Only those who are found medically fit are allowed to participate in further tests. Candidates must be physically fit and mentally alert, and capable of discharging field duty by putting in hard labor for at least 8 hours a day during day or night. Candidates must cover a distance of 5 (five) Kilometers on foot within a period of one hour. Those who fail to cover the distance within the time will be disqualified. Candidates who qualify in the medical test and physical test will appear before the Selection Board for an interview to test their suitability

Incomplete applications or applications received after the last date of submission will be summarily rejected. The re-employed persons shall have to wear the uniform and the badge as prescribed by the D.G. & I.G. of Police, Odisha. Candidates are required to execute an agreement for re-employment on a contract basis for not more than one year. The selection test will be held at Reserve Police Ground Sambalpur on 10 November 2026 at 06:30 AM. The decision of the Medical Board regarding physical fitness is final and binding.
