Age Limit
| Details | Candidates must be a minimum of 21 years and maximum of 32 years as on 01-05-2026. Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of Odisha guidelines. The prescribed age limits cannot be relaxed beyond notified provisions. SC, ST, and SEBC relaxation is applicable only for posts reserved for the respective category. PwBD candidates are eligible for cumulative age relaxation over and above category (SC/ST/SEBC) relaxation. |

How to Apply
- 1Candidates must apply online only through the OPTCL website (www.optcl.co.in). No other mode of application will be accepted. No hard copy of the application is required to be sent to any address. Before applying, candidates must have their GATE 2026 Registration Number, valid GATE 2026 Score Card, Odia Pass Certificate, degree certificate and mark sheets, and other required documents ready in prescribed format for upload.

Important Instructions
- Selected candidates will be required to execute a service bond of Rs. 3,00,000/- (applicable for all categories) to successfully complete the training period and thereafter serve OPTCL for at least three years. The bond amount is payable if the candidate resigns or leaves service during the stipulated bond period for any reason whatsoever. During the 1-year training period, a stipend of Rs. 50,000/- per month will be paid. On successful completion, candidates will be absorbed as Assistant Manager (Electrical) in Pay Matrix Level EE-2 (Rs. 56,100 – Rs. 1,77,500) with CTC of approximately Rs. 15 Lakhs per annum. If performance during training is found unsatisfactory, the training period will be extended for a further six months. If performance is still not satisfactory after the extension, the service will be terminated. After successful completion of training, candidates will be on probation for a further period of twelve months. Selected candidates are liable to be posted at any existing or future unit of OPTCL throughout Odisha and outside, as per organizational requirements. SC, ST, and SEBC concessions are admissible only to candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and SEBC of Odisha State by birth. SEBC certificate must be the latest certificate (dated on or after 01-05-2025). SEBC certificates issued after 25-06-2026 will not be accepted. Candidates must correctly declare their name and date of birth as per High School Certificate / Birth Certificate. Date of birth as entered in the High School Certificate / Birth Certificate issued by the concerned authority will only be accepted. Candidature is provisional throughout the process and liable to be rejected or appointment terminated at any stage if any information is found false, misleading, or amounts to suppression of material facts. OPTCL will not undertake detailed scrutiny of applications for eligibility during shortlisting; candidates must verify their own eligibility before applying. If any claim is not substantiated at the time of scrutiny, candidature will be cancelled and OPTCL's decision shall be final. Legal jurisdiction in case of any cause or dispute shall be the Hon'ble High Court of Orissa.
